What is right chest embroidery?
Right chest embroidery uses the same hoop, the same stabilizer, and the same stitching technique as left chest — it just lives on the opposite side of the garment. The placement is most often used to balance a left-chest logo with a name, title, or secondary mark on the right side. Healthcare practices put 'Dr. Last Name, MD' there, opposite the clinic logo. Country clubs and marinas embroider member names there, opposite the burgee. Restaurants put server first names there for guest recognition. Sometimes right chest is the only placement used — the choice usually comes down to brand standards or which side a wearer pins their ID badge to. Right chest is also a popular alternative for left-handed wearers and for layouts where the primary brand is going on full-back or sleeve instead.
Best garments for right chest embroidery
Anything that supports left chest supports right chest — the panel geometry is identical. Common pairings include a left-chest company logo with a right-chest employee name on healthcare scrubs and restaurant chef coats, or a left-chest team logo with a right-chest player name on coaches' polos. Note that some garments (like the Cutter & Buck DryTec line) have an internal seam or a small print on the right chest that interferes with embroidery — flag those at quote time. For pockets-on-right-chest shirts (rare but real), we move the placement up by half an inch and shrink the design slightly to avoid stitching into the pocket facing.
How to prepare artwork for right chest embroidery
Artwork rules mirror left chest exactly: vector preferred, 300 DPI raster acceptable, max 3.5 inches wide, 9 thread colors. For name embroidery (the most common right-chest use case), send us the spelling, the font (we stock Block, Script, Athletic, Old English, Greek, and Varsity by default), and the thread color. Two-line stacked names — first name on top, last name below — should be at least 2.5 inches wide to stay readable. Letter heights below 1/4" tend to crowd and lose definition.

Right Chest Embroidery pricing details
Right chest logo embroidery runs $10 per garment, identical to left chest pricing. Right chest names run $8 per garment with no digitizing fee — names use a stock font, not a custom stitch file. When you are doing both a left-chest logo AND a right-chest name on the same garment, the combined price is $15 per piece (a discount versus running them separately). Volume breaks kick in at 24, 72, and 144 pieces.
