What is polo shirt embroidery?

The embroidered polo shirt is the workhorse of corporate America — the single most common item we make every week. We embroider polos for real estate brokerages, country clubs, restaurants, healthcare practices, marinas, contractors, software companies, retail stores, and Long Island's small-business community at large. The default layout is a 3.5-inch logo on the left chest, sometimes paired with a right-chest name or a sleeve hit for sponsorship branding. We work with every major polo brand — Port Authority, Sport-Tek, Nike Dri-FIT, Under Armour Tech Polo, Cutter & Buck, Cherokee scrubs, Vantage, Devon & Jones — and we stock the most popular SKUs at wholesale so you can order garments and embroidery together at a lower per-piece cost than buying retail polos elsewhere.

Best garments for polo shirt embroidery

Choose your polo based on use case. Port Authority K500 (heavy pique) is the durable, lower-cost choice for restaurants, marinas, and outdoor crews. Sport-Tek ST650 (micro-pique with moisture wicking) is the lighter, more athletic option for outdoor sales reps and event staff. Nike Dri-FIT is the premium brand for executive teamwear and customer-facing roles. Under Armour Tech Polo is the choice for trades and field crews who want performance fabric. For ladies' cuts we default to Port Authority L500 or Sport-Tek LST650. We stock white, black, navy, royal, charcoal, and red in most styles year-round; other colors are available on 5-7 day reorder.

How to prepare artwork for polo shirt embroidery

Polo embroidery follows standard left-chest art rules: vector AI/EPS preferred, 300 DPI PNG acceptable, max 3.5 inches wide, up to 9 thread colors. Two polo-specific notes: (1) Pique polos have a textured knit that hides minor stitching imperfections beautifully — they're forgiving of older art files. Performance polos (Nike, Under Armour) use tight smooth knits that show every detail, so the digitizing has to be cleaner. (2) Stretchy performance polos require a slightly different underlay to keep the design flat on the body during wear — we handle this automatically, but it's why we sometimes ask which brand of polo we'll be sewing on.

Polo Shirt Embroidery pricing details

Embroidered polo pricing is $15 per piece for polo + left-chest logo bundled together (using our stocked blanks). If you're bringing your own polos, embroidery only is $10 per piece. Adding a right-chest name brings the price to $22 bundled, $15 BYO-polo. Adding a sleeve hit (flag or secondary logo) brings the price to $25 bundled, $18 BYO-polo. Digitizing is $125 one-time per logo. Volume breaks at 12 (small team), 24 (medium team), 72 (event), and 144 (large corporate) pieces.

Should I buy polos from you or bring my own?

If you don't already have garments, buying through us is almost always cheaper than buying retail polos and bringing them in. We have wholesale pricing on Port Authority, Sport-Tek, Nike, and Under Armour. If you already have polos (existing inventory, uniform policy mandates), bring them in — BYO is welcome.

Can you embroider on Nike polos?

Yes, we are an authorized customizer for Nike Dri-FIT polos. We embroider Nike's signature swoosh layout, the standard left-chest layout, or any custom placement.

What polo color works best for embroidery?

White, black, and navy are the easiest — high contrast with most thread palettes. Heather grays are popular for a modern look. Brighter colors (royal, red) work great with white or contrast-thread logos. We can preview thread-on-fabric combinations before you commit.

How many polos can I order?

No minimum. We run single-polo orders weekly (small business owners branding their own gear) all the way up to 500-polo corporate uniform rollouts.

Do you do ladies cuts and youth sizes?

Yes. Most of our polo brands offer matched ladies cuts and youth sizes — mixing kids, ladies, and mens in a single team order is standard.
