What is name & text embroidery?
Name and text embroidery is the simplest, fastest, cheapest embroidery service we offer — and one of the most-ordered. The job is straightforward: you tell us the text, the font, the thread color, and the placement, and we sew it. No digitizing required, no setup fee, no artwork file. The most common use cases are employee names on chef coats and scrubs, member names on country club polos, monograms on personal gifts (towels, robes, bags), team names on athletic apparel, and family names on holiday gift items. Because we use pre-built stitch files for each character in our stock fonts, there is zero setup cost — the $8 per line price is final. We can run name embroidery on the right chest of a polo (the corporate default), on the cuff of a button-down (high-end look), on the back hem of a jacket (subtle), or on any other flat-panel location you specify.
Best garments for name & text embroidery
Name embroidery works on any garment that supports left-chest or right-chest sewing — polos, button-downs, scrubs, chef coats, fleece, jackets, towels, robes, bags. Lightweight performance fabrics need a slightly slower stitch speed to keep the lettering crisp; heavy canvas needs a longer-shank needle. Mono-grams on bath towels and beach towels are our second-most-common name job after employee uniforms. For monogrammed gifts, we recommend our standard Script font in matching-or-contrasting thread — it's the look every embroidery shop has been doing for fifty years and it never goes out of style.
How to prepare artwork for name & text embroidery
There is no artwork to prepare — that's the whole point of name embroidery. Just tell us: (1) the exact text including spelling and capitalization, (2) which stock font, (3) which thread color (we'll show you the matching options for your garment color), and (4) where on the garment it goes. If you want a font we don't stock, we can digitize it for the standard $125 fee — but that bumps the job out of the name embroidery category and into custom logo pricing. Most customers find one of our six stock fonts hits the look they want without the digitizing cost.

Name / Text Embroidery pricing details
Name embroidery is $8 per line of text per garment. Two-line stacked names (first on top, last below) are $14 — slightly less than two separate single-line orders. No digitizing fee on any stock font. No setup fee. Volume pricing at 24, 72, and 144 garments. A name embroidery added to a left-chest logo embroidery on the same garment is $15 total (a $3 bundled discount versus running them separately).
